The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops

Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.

He tests and evaluates cleaning appliances. His main focus is mopping and robot vacuum combinations. These multitaskers can be an excellent choice for those who are looking to eliminate mopping from their list of tasks. They have impressive mapping and obstacle avoidance capabilities, and some wash and refill their own mopping pads to ensure a hands-free clean.

The Eufy S1 Pro

If you're looking for a robotic vacuum that also mop, this is the model to go for. It's smaller than the other models on this list, making it easier to navigate through tight corners and under furniture. It features a 220 degree lidar which, when paired with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it the best navigation and obstacle avoidance I've ever seen in a robotic vacuum. It's powered by a 4600mAh battery which can last up to 170 mins when mopping and sucking is set to standard mode. (It can run longer on turbo). It can even return to its dock to replenish its battery in mid-clean.

It's extremely fast and does an excellent job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms quickly, and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room and hallways in just one pass. Its 8,000pa suction motor will quickly pick up dirt, droppings, and pet hair. Carpet detection increases power automatically when it encounters rugs and the dual side brushes help pull away debris from corners.

The mopping performance, though still impressive, isn't as effective. The mop's rotating mechanism spins fast and makes use of 2.2lbs to scrub dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arm extends out a bit more than other robots. This is useful when you're trying to get into narrow corners or along baseboards. The same front arms can also be employed to clean up larger debris, like broken toys or books.

Another good thing is that the S1 Pro is one of the most quiet robot vacuums and mops I've tried. It doesn't create as loud of a sound while vacuuming or mopping and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The only drawback is that the S1 Pro must use a proprietary cleaning solution for its mopping function and is sold separately from the vacuum. It's simple to set up and performs well, but it's something you'll need to keep an eye on in case you're purchasing this vacuum solely for the reason of mopping.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class.  remote hoover  is a powerful machine for cleaning with a wide range of features.

The device has an impressive and powerful cleaning system that integrates LiDAR sensors with an RGB camera to map your home and identify furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean effectively and methodically. This will result in an efficient, consistent clean that's also fairly quick.

In terms of mopping, the Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads are capable of reaching a wide range of surfaces. This includes baseboards, corners and other hard to reach areas. They also have a flexible side brush that can be extended to reach the floor near walls and other fixtures. The mop pads are also washable and can be dried to eliminate odors and stop buildup.

App-based customization is yet another noteworthy feature. The Q Revo lets you adjust the suction intensity and choose either a back-and-forth or a random pattern. You can also set the number of passes it will make, which will determine the speed at which the device can traverse your home. You can even choose to turn off the side brush to avoid damaging rugs and carpets.

This device is expensive however it has many useful features. It is important to note, however, that the device incurs recurring expenses in the form mopping supplies as well as regular maintenance. For example the brushroll has to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to 12 months. The filter is recommended to be cleaned after 150 hrs, and the mop pads must be changed every one to three months.

This robotic vacuum cleaner has an excellent Amazon rating and comes with many physical automation features. These include a power button that serves as a general "Clean' button and a 'Home button that sends it back to its base station once it has completed its cleaning task. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically emptys the dustbin, refills its water tank for mopping and washes and dry its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

The Shark Matrix Plus will be a good option for busy professionals or anyone who needs to keep their home neat without spending too much time on chores. It has powerful performance, smart navigation, and a long battery life that makes it simple to keep your home tidy with minimal effort.

The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop which means it can handle both vacuuming and mopping. The robot is divided into two components, a dry bin and water tank that can be snapped in and out and a mopping module that includes a microfiber pad. Separate modules for vacuuming and mopping may appear a bit dated, but they do mean that you don't need to worry about changing bags for disposables or refilling the tank with water.

Our test participants found that the Matrix Plus did a great job at both vacuuming and mopping. Its best feature is its precise floorplan map, which it employs when cleaning. This made it easy for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture rug, furniture, and other obstacles. The app allows you to create 'No-Go Zones' or virtual barriers to stop certain areas from being cleaned by mopping.

We also noticed that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in removing pet hair. It was able to capture a large amount of hair that our cats shed and even was able to get into the nooks and crevices of our stairs which other robots struggled. The noise levels were low and there were nice jingles to inform you that it was starting and working towards its goal.

Its main drawbacks were its simplistic app and the need to swap between the modules to switch between vacuuming and mopping. The app can't store multiple maps. This could be an issue if your home has several floors. The Matrix Plus is a good choice for people who want an intelligent robot that can perform both vacuuming and mopping.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that mops in our review, however it has some distinctive features that make it worth taking into consideration. The X1 Omni's main draw is its huge dock which serves as the robot's charging base and housing for two 4 liter water tanks, a cleaning sink, and a 2.5-liter dust bin that is automatically eliminates.

The base has a few control buttons that let you manually begin a cleaning task and then recall the robot or run the dock's automatic emptying procedure. Hold down two of the buttons to turn off a child lock that is a great feature for parents who are worried about children playing with the vacuum.

Like other robotic vacuums, the Omni Omni uses its camera to spot furniture and obstacles in its path and eliminate them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system maps your home 10 times faster than conventional laser detection systems and is four times more accurate in recognizing objects.

Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni could occasionally get caught up in an obstruction, such as the power cord that is draped across a rug--that it becomes stuck and stops working until you free it. Although this is not a common occurrence however, it was a gruelling experience when it did happen particularly since the X1 Omni doesn't have an "stuck" status alert in its application.

The X1 Omni cannot automatically switch from mopping mode to vacuuming mode during a cleaning session. You'll have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't too bad but mopping pads don't get cleaned or dried between use. This can cause mildew and mold.

On the positive side, the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who came up with its modern, sleek base and mopping pad. It's a major departure from the utilitarian, all-black bases used by competitors like Roborock and iRobot and is a refreshing appearance in a market which is dominated by clunky boxy models.
